HANDWARA, SEPT 22: In a strict enforcement drive to ensure compliance with prescribed rules and regulations, J&K Police Handwara, in coordination with the civil administration, conducted surprise checks of medical shops across the jurisdictions of Police Station Handwara and Police Station Vilgam.
The checking teams inspected medical establishments with particular focus on the sale, storage and handling of medicines, while also strengthening vigilance against their misuse and any unauthorised or illegal sale of drugs.
During the inspection, one medical shop was found violating the prescribed norms and was subsequently sealed by the authorities for necessary action under the applicable rules.
The joint checking drive is part of ongoing efforts to prevent the misuse of medicines and ensure that pharmaceutical establishments operate strictly within the regulatory framework.
Police said such inspections would continue to maintain strict oversight and protect public health and safety.
