BARAMULLA, SEPT 23: Continuing its crackdown on terror networks and their support infrastructure, Sheeri Police has attached a double-storeyed residential property at Namblan, Sheeri, under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, in connection with a terror-related case.
The action relates to FIR Number 37/2026, registered under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UAPA.
The attached property comprises a double-storeyed residential house situated at Village Namblan, Sheeri, Baramulla, belonging to accused Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, son of Late Mohammad Sultan Ganie.
During the course of investigation, the property was found, prima facie, to have been used for providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists and facilitating terrorist activities, police said.
The findings attracted the relevant provisions of the UAPA concerning proceeds of terrorism.
The attachment was carried out after requisite approval from the Director General of Police, J&K.
A public notice has also been displayed at the property, prohibiting its sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of any third-party interest.
The action forms part of Baramulla Police’s sustained efforts to disrupt the logistical and support network of terror outfits and proceed under law against individuals and properties allegedly involved in facilitating terrorist activities.
Baramulla Police reiterated that firm and lawful action would continue against terror networks and their support structures in the interest of public security.
