NEW DELHI, SEPT 24: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth felicitated two distinguished veterans with the Yoddha Seva Samman (YSS) during the Retiring Officers Seminar in New Delhi, recognising their continued contributions towards nation building.
Lt Col Ishwar Doddamani (Retd), Bengaluru, was honoured for empowering and mentoring youth towards careers in the Armed Forces and supporting initiatives related to education and employment.
Sub Sonawane Prabhakar Babu (Retd), Pune, was recognised for his sustained support to veterans and Veer Naris, besides his involvement in community and environmental initiatives.
Complimenting the awardees, the COAS highlighted that a veteran remains a “Yoddha beyond uniform” by continuing to serve society and contribute meaningfully towards nation building.
The Yoddha Seva Samman carries the message “Karm Se Gaurav, Seva Se Vijay” — “Honour Through Action, Victory Through Service.”
