Srinagar, Oct 1: PDP senior leader and former State Secretary Arif Laigroo has hailed SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, and his team for successfully busting a major inter-state narcotics network.
Laigroo, in a statement issued, appreciated the Srinagar Police for arresting eight persons and seizing more than 2.19 lakh tablets and capsules, along with the recovery of Rs 85.75 lakh in cash and freezing of assets worth Rs 1.09 crore. Gold, other valuables and a firearm were also recovered during the operation.
He said the busting of the inter-state supply chain is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and protect society, particularly the younger generation, from the growing menace of narcotics.
“Such determined and professional action against drug networks sends a strong message that those involved in trafficking and distribution of narcotics will face the full force of the law,” Laigroo said.
