JAMMU, OCT 23: Three siblings from Nardi Bala in Akhnoor are drawing attention for their distinguished professional journeys across intelligence, healthcare, the Indian Army and policing, reflecting a family legacy rooted in education, discipline and service to the nation.
Navjot Singh, the eldest, served as an Intelligence Officer in the Intelligence Bureau and later as an Enforcement Officer. He is now engaged in mentoring UPSC aspirants, serving as an interview panelist, analysing geopolitics, hosting podcasts and delivering motivational talks.
His sister, Dr. Neha Singh, serves as a Medical Officer with the Jammu and Kashmir Government in the border region of Akhnoor, contributing to healthcare delivery and the well-being of local communities.
Their brother, Major Abhinandan Singh, served eight years in the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals before completing his IPS training as part of the 78 RR batch. During his military career, he earned commendations and led Squad Six to win the Best ITBP Trophy at the passing-out parade, according to the family account.
The siblings’ achievements reflect the influence of their parents, Sardar Bikram Jit Singh, a retired Economics lecturer, and Smt. Sarvjeet Kaur, a retired principal, who instilled in them the values of honesty, integrity, discipline and compassion.
The family also honours the memory of their paternal uncle, Shaheed Nirmaljit Singh, who laid down his life while serving in the Indian Army in the Uri sector in 2008. His sacrifice remains a powerful reminder of the family’s connection with national service.
From intelligence and public administration to medicine, military service and policing, the three siblings have chosen different professional paths while sharing a common commitment to serving society and the country.
Their journey from Akhnoor stands as a testament to the enduring power of education, perseverance, family values and dedication to duty.
