LEH, SEPT 16: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Leh, has arrested a hairdresser following the recovery of approximately 13.13 grams of a heroin-like substance during an operation based on specific intelligence input.

According to the ANTF, the accused, identified as Jaskreet Singh, son of Dharmender Singh, a resident of Ludhiana, was intercepted by the task force team while working at a reputed hair salon in Leh.

The recovered substance was seized and the accused was arrested in the presence of a First-Class Magistrate, with police stating that all requisite legal procedures were followed.

Preliminary investigation has indicated the alleged involvement of the accused in supplying narcotic substances to vulnerable youth in Ladakh, officials said.

Following the recovery, FIR Number 15/2026 has been registered at Police Station ANTF, Leh, under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Further investigation is underway to establish the source of the recovered substance and identify other persons who may be linked to its alleged supply and distribution network.
