NUBRA, SEPT 16: Government Degree College Nubra on Wednesday conducted its annual Student Council Elections for the academic session 2026–27, with active participation from students and a smooth and transparent voting process.
Padma Choskey of 3rd Semester was elected President, Naziya Anjum of 5th Semester Secretary, and Mushraf Ali of 1st Semester Treasurer following the polling process.
A felicitation ceremony was subsequently organised in the college conference hall, where the newly elected representatives were felicitated by the faculty and students.
Principal Prof. Rigzin Sandup congratulated the elected members and urged them to act as an effective bridge between the college administration and student community.
He encouraged the council to address student grievances, maintain academic discipline and actively participate in organising cultural, sports and extension activities during the academic year.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Jegmet Sangyas, Assistant Professor of Political Science, who appreciated the efforts of the election committee, faculty members and security personnel for ensuring a peaceful and seamless election process.
