BARAMULLA, SEPT 10: Baramulla Police has directed its field formations to strengthen police-public coordination, intensify crime prevention efforts and remain responsive to issues affecting local communities, as Thana Diwas and Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings were conducted at 30 locations across the district.

During the meetings, police officers were directed to maintain regular engagement with residents and ensure prompt attention to public safety concerns, particularly those related to drug abuse, crime prevention, traffic management and other emerging community issues.

The meetings were held at Gutiyar, Nowrang (Narandari), Poshbagh, Taripora Wasran, Chinnad, Suhail Colony Aribaba, Zadi Mohalla, Mamoosa, Mehmoodpora, Devar, Saderbal, Nowlari, Sehkoul, Check Tapper, Chanderseer, Rajpora, Durhama, Gratbal Daji, Pandoori, Heer, Devipora, Kung Doori, Badian, Kassi, Dawaran, Bagh-i-Dudran, Kathil A & B, Isham and Shahdara.

Police officers interacted directly with residents, listened to their concerns and discussed measures required to maintain public safety and prevent unlawful activities. Residents were urged to maintain close coordination with Police and share timely information about suspicious activities and issues requiring intervention.

Officers stressed that community participation and timely information sharing are vital for effective preventive policing, particularly in tackling drug abuse, maintaining traffic discipline and addressing local security concerns.

The Thana Diwas and PCPG engagements were aimed at taking policing closer to the people and creating a stronger feedback mechanism between Police and local communities.

Baramulla Police reiterated its commitment to responsive, people-oriented policing, with continued emphasis on community partnership, crime prevention and maintaining a safe and secure environment across the district.
