JAMMU, OCT 1: The BJP Jammu unit on Thursday stepped up its grassroots welfare outreach by organising a ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan – Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ camp at the party’s District Office in Kachi Chawni, Jammu, focusing on helping citizens access government welfare schemes, identity documents and essential public services without repeated visits to government offices.
The programme, organised under the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ by BJP Jammu District President Adv. Rajesh Gupta, was inaugurated by BJP J&K President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma in the presence of BJP J&K General Secretary Sanjita Dogra, District Prabhari Brijeshwar Rana and other senior party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said the objective of the Seva Setu initiative was to bridge the gap between government schemes and eligible beneficiaries by taking information and facilitation closer to the people. He said welfare programmes could achieve their intended purpose only when citizens were able to access them without unnecessary procedural difficulties.
“The government is not asking people to remain confined to offices and search for schemes. Through initiatives like Seva Setu, we are taking information, facilitation and service closer to the people,” Sharma said, reiterating the BJP’s emphasis on last-mile delivery and public welfare.
The camp facilitated citizens with services related to Ayushman Bharat Cards, ABHA Cards, Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards, domicile certificates, Aadhaar-related requirements and addition or deletion of names in ration cards, among other facilities. The outreach was aimed particularly at reducing the practical difficulties faced by beneficiaries in navigating multiple offices for documentation and welfare-related services.
Sanjita Dogra said the Seva Setu campaign was focused on ensuring that welfare and development initiatives translated into accessible benefits for ordinary citizens. She emphasised that awareness and facilitation were important components of effective welfare delivery.
Rajesh Gupta said the Jammu district organisation had sought to provide a single-point facilitation platform for residents requiring assistance with health cards, identity and domicile documentation, ration-card corrections and other essential services.
The programme also witnessed the ‘Rangoli Rashtra’ initiative, organised at the same venue as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Sat Sharma, along with BJP leaders and workers, participated in creating a rangoli portraying themes of development, welfare and public service associated with the Narendra Modi Government.
The twin initiatives combined welfare facilitation with public outreach, with the BJP Jammu unit highlighting service delivery and beneficiary access as key components of its grassroots engagement.
