SRINAGAR, OCT 2: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring message of truth, non-violence, peace and harmony.
In his message, the Chief Minister said Gandhi’s ideals continue to inspire generations and remain relevant in guiding society towards peaceful and harmonious coexistence. He called upon people to uphold the legacy of the Father of the Nation and collectively strengthen the values of compassion, tolerance and mutual respect.
Omar Abdullah emphasised the importance of working together to build a peaceful, compassionate and inclusive society, where the principles of harmony and human dignity remain central to social life.
He said Gandhi Jayanti provides an opportunity to reflect on the Mahatma’s teachings and reaffirm the collective commitment to promoting peace and strengthening the bonds of unity and understanding among people.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to carry Gandhi’s message beyond the commemorative occasion and incorporate the ideals of truth, non-violence and harmony into their everyday lives.
