SRINAGAR, SEPT 23: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday held separate meetings with Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, and a delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at Raabita in Srinagar.
During his meeting with Prof. Romshoo, the Chief Minister discussed various issues concerning higher education and academic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The interaction focused on strengthening educational initiatives, fostering academic excellence and further improving the role of higher educational institutions in the region’s development.
The meeting also reflected the Government’s continued engagement with universities and academic stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at strengthening the higher education ecosystem and creating greater opportunities for students and researchers.
Later, the Chief Minister met a KCCI delegation led by its President Javid Ahmad Tenga. Discussions centred on issues related to trade, business, industry and economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
The KCCI delegation shared matters concerning the business community and the broader economic environment, while the interaction provided an opportunity to exchange views on measures aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Government and business stakeholders.
Both meetings highlighted the importance of sustained engagement with key stakeholders from the education and business sectors and explored avenues for collaboration on initiatives having wider public, academic and economic significance.
