NUBRA, SEPT 17: The District Administration Nubra organised a Pad Yatra at Diskit as part of the UT-wide Drug Awareness Campaign and to mark six years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, promoting awareness against drug abuse and encouraging a healthy, drug-free society.
The programme began at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, where Deputy Commissioner Mukul Beniwal, administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan pledge to the participants.
Students, Heads of Departments, officers and officials, police personnel and members of the public took the pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to making Nubra drug-free.
The participants subsequently took out the Pad Yatra, which passed through Photang Road, Bus Stand and Main Market Chowk before concluding at the DC Office.
Addressing the gathering, DC Nubra stressed the need for greater awareness among youth and students about the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
He urged young people to stay away from drugs and adopt healthy and responsible choices.
Highlighting the youth-centric focus of the campaign, the DC called for active engagement and sensitisation of young people as part of the collective effort to build a drug-free society.
The Pad Yatra witnessed participation from SDM Nubra Mohd Safdar Bhat, Tehsildar Diskit, Heads of Departments, officers and officials, students from various schools, police personnel and members of the general public.
