KHALTSE, SEPT 18, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sham, Kunzes Angmo, on Friday directed the Animal Husbandry Department to step up field-level implementation of welfare schemes and ensure that livestock owners and farmers receive the intended benefits without delay.
Chairing a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Sham, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed assessment of the department’s physical and financial progress under Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Special Development Package, UT schemes and other ongoing programmes.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Sham, Dr. Gulzar Hussain, briefed the meeting through a detailed presentation on livestock development, veterinary healthcare, vaccination, dairy development, fodder management, artificial insemination, breed improvement, Kisan Credit Card loans and other farmer-oriented initiatives.
Kunzes Angmo sought a scheme-wise assessment of achievements, ongoing works and implementation challenges, stressing that effective monitoring at the field level is essential to ensure that government assistance reaches the intended beneficiaries.
She directed departmental officers to undertake regular field visits, strengthen outreach and veterinary services, and maintain close contact with livestock owners and farmers. She also called for timely completion of developmental works and optimum utilisation of available resources.
Emphasising coordinated functioning, the Deputy Commissioner directed field officials to work in close coordination with other concerned departments for efficient implementation of livestock and dairy development programmes across District Sham.
The meeting was attended by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Gulzar Hussain, Block Veterinary Officer Sham Dr. Stanzin Zadon, MVU In-charge Dr. Stanzin Tsela, Assistant Veterinary Officer Tsetan Tundup, Senior Veterinary Pharmacists, Veterinary Pharmacists and other officials of the Animal Husbandry Department.
