Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar on Tuesday celebrated Doordarshan’s 67th Foundation Day and National Engineers’ Day, highlighting the organisation’s glorious journey in public service broadcasting and acknowledging the dedication, technical expertise and invaluable contributions of its engineering fraternity.
The twin observances, as per a PIB statement, underscored Doordarshan’s enduring commitment to informing, educating, entertaining and uniting people while recognising the crucial role of technology and engineering in ensuring seamless broadcasting and effective public communication.
Deputy Director General (Engineering), H.P. Meena, said, “Engineers are the backbone of modern broadcasting. Behind every seamless news bulletin, live transmission and successful programme is a team of dedicated technical professionals working with precision, commitment and a strong sense of public service.
Director News, Regional News Unit, DDK Srinagar, Qazi Salman, said, “The 67th Foundation Day of Doordarshan is a celebration of its enduring legacy of public service, while National Engineers’ Day reminds us of the dedicated technical professionals who make this service possible. At DDK Srinagar, the seamless coordination between our editorial and engineering teams is the foundation of credible, timely and impactful broadcasting.
S.N.H. Abidi, Assistant Director (Engineering), said, the broadcasting landscape is undergoing rapid technological transformation. He observed that from conventional transmission systems to digital platforms and advanced production technologies, engineers were at the forefront of this change.
