ANANTNAG, SEPT 18: DIG South Kashmir Range Javed Iqbal Mattoo, on Friday chaired a high-level security review meeting at RPHQ Anantnag, directing Police and CRPF officers to maintain heightened vigilance, strengthen security of vulnerable targets and ensure prompt response to emerging threats.
The meeting focused on a comprehensive assessment of the current security scenario, identified threats and vulnerabilities, besides reviewing measures required to maintain a peaceful environment across the region.
Senior officers of Police and CRPF briefed the DIG on the security arrangements currently in place for public safety and law and order, along with operational preparedness for anti-terrorist operations and contingency response mechanisms.
DIG Mattoo directed officers to maintain close inter-agency coordination and ensure effective sharing of operational inputs to strengthen the security grid.
He stressed the need for contingency plans to remain updated and operationally viable so that forces can respond swiftly to any emerging situation.
The DIG issued directions for enhanced security of vulnerable targets and sensitive locations, calling upon officers to closely monitor vulnerable areas and maintain sustained ground-level vigilance to thwart any attempt by miscreants to disturb peace.
He further directed the officers to conduct regular reviews of security arrangements and identify potential gaps so that corrective measures could be taken without delay.
The meeting underscored the importance of constant alertness, coordinated deployment and proactive security measures to safeguard public life and property and maintain peace in South Kashmir.
