Students and teachers from Government Higher Secondary School Boys Leh, Government Higher Secondary School Girls Leh, Lamdon School and Ladakh Public School participated in the programme aimed at sensitising young minds about the dangers of substance abuse.
Inmates of District Jail Leh shared their personal experiences and spoke about the devastating impact of drug abuse on their lives. They also presented nataks depicting the adverse consequences of drug addiction, delivering a strong message on the importance of staying away from drugs.
Addressing the gathering, the Senior Superintendent of Prisons, UT of Ladakh, highlighted the serious physical, mental and social consequences associated with drug abuse and stressed the need for sustained preventive efforts.
The SSP Prison called for collective action involving government departments, educational institutions, NGOs, students and the public to combat the growing menace of drugs and promote a healthier society.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment towards strengthening awareness and prevention initiatives and advancing the vision of a Nasha Mukt Ladakh.
