Kargil Police arrests two with heroin, FIR registered under NDPS Act

KARGIL, SEPT 19: Acting on specific intelligence input, Kargil Police arrested two persons and recovered a small quantity of a heroin-like substance from their possession, officials said on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Mohd Mustafa, a resident of Chiktan, and Arif Nabi, a resident of Bhimbet, Drass.

According to police, the recovery was made in the presence of independent witnesses. Both suspects were arrested after completion of the required legal formalities.

In connection with the recovery, FIR Number 89/2026 has been registered at Police Station Kargil under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Police said further investigation is underway to establish the source of the recovered substance and trace the wider supply network.
