Dooru Police arrests absconder wanted in Udhampur NDPS case

ANANTNAG, SEPT 17: Dooru Police arrested an absconder wanted in connection with an NDPS case registered in Udhampur, as part of its ongoing drive to trace and apprehend wanted persons.

Acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Dooru apprehended Abdul Rashid Sood, son of Gh. Nabi, resident of Garnia, Udhampur.

Sood was evading arrest in connection with FIR Number 38/2024 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Rambhal, Udhampur.

According to police, the Court of District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur, had issued a warrant under Section 299 CrPC against the accused in 2025.

Following his arrest, further legal proceedings are being initiated in accordance with law.

The arrest underscores Anantnag Police’s efforts to track down absconders and wanted persons, including those involved in cases registered outside the district.
