SAMBA, SEPT 24: A 30-year-old man was injured after two to three rounds were allegedly fired during a late-night incident near a tea stall in the Tarore area of Bari Brahmana in Samba district, officials said on Thursday.
The injured has been identified as Vishal Singh alias Vishu, son of Narinder Singh, a resident of Rahya in Vijaypur.
According to officials, the firing took place during the late hours, following which Singh sustained an injury to his leg.
He was immediately shifted for medical assistance and later referred to AIIMS Vijaypur, where he is undergoing treatment.
The exact circumstances leading to the firing, including the motive and identity of the persons who allegedly opened fire, remain under investigation.
Following the incident, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Teams are working to establish the sequence of events and ascertain the circumstances in which the firing occurred.
