JAMMU, SEPT 27: The Indian Air Force’s historic cycling expedition from Kanyakumari to Kargil, organised as part of the 94th Anniversary of the Indian Air Force and in tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War, reached Jammu on Sunday during its concluding phase.
The expedition is being conducted in three phases, with the third and final leg covering the route from the National War Memorial in New Delhi to the Kargil War Memorial. The contingent is currently on the sixth day of this phase.
The riders began their day’s journey from Pathankot at 7 am and proceeded towards Jammu before continuing their onward movement towards Kargil.
Despite challenges along the route, the contingent continued its determined journey, carrying a message of courage, sacrifice and service associated with the armed forces.
The expedition is being undertaken to commemorate the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the Kargil War heroes who laid down their lives in defence of the nation’s sovereignty.
As the cyclists advance towards the Kargil War Memorial, the expedition seeks to honour the enduring legacy of the fallen soldiers and reaffirm the values of courage, dedication and service that continue to inspire the nation.
