JAMMU, SEPT 27: The Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Trust (J&K) has appointed Jagjyot Singh Raina as its General Secretary with immediate effect.
Raina has been actively associated with Sikh community welfare and social activities in Jammu for the past decade and has been involved in raising issues concerning the community at various forums.
Welcoming the appointment, Chairman Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Trust Dr Satwant Singh Rissam said the Trust hoped that Raina would effectively guide its affairs and activities and contribute towards the welfare and betterment of the Sikh community across Jammu and Kashmir.
Trust President Harpreet Singh said the decision to appoint Raina was taken with the approval of the Trust and in accordance with the resolution passed during its meeting.
Raina expressed gratitude to the Trust for entrusting him with the responsibility and assured the Sikh community that he would work towards taking up important issues concerning the community in a timely manner before the appropriate administrative authorities.
He said he would continue to work for the welfare, unity and interests of the Sikh community and strengthen the activities of the Trust across Jammu and Kashmir.
