BUDGAM, OCT 9: In recognition of investigative excellence and technology-driven policing, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar Singh, felicitated police personnel of District Budgam for exposing a fake employment syndicate and adopting the Digital Beat Policing System, highlighting the district police’s dual focus on tackling fraud and modernising grassroots law enforcement. The ceremony was held in the presence of DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Pandey, who witnessed the recognition of officers and personnel for their contributions to effective policing.
The team of Police Station Beerwah was commended for its significant role in exposing a fake employment syndicate, an achievement underscoring the importance of proactive investigation in detecting fraudulent recruitment networks and protecting people from employment-related deception. Police Station Magam was recognised for implementing the Digital Beat Policing System, reflecting a shift towards technology-enabled field operations, systematic information management and improved police-public coordination.
Among those felicitated were SSP Budgam Hariprasad KK; SDPO Magam Ashrif Lissery; SHO Police Station Beerwah Mudassir Nassar; SHO Police Station Magam Khurshid Awan; and 17 other police personnel. The recipients were presented with commendation certificates, appreciation letters and rewards in acknowledgement of their professional commitment and operational contributions.
The recognition highlights the growing importance of intelligence-led investigation and digital transformation in strengthening policing at the district level. While action against fake employment networks reinforces the role of law enforcement in protecting public interests, digitisation of beat policing offers a framework for more systematic field-level monitoring and citizen engagement. The initiative also serves as an incentive for police personnel to maintain professional standards, embrace innovation and deliver responsive, accountable and public-centric policing.
