PHILIPPINES, SEPT 23: Professional exchanges, sporting events and cultural programmes marked the harbour phase of the 23rd ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Maritime Security Joint Capacity Building Activity (ADMM-Plus EWG-MS JCA) at Subic Bay in the Philippines.
Personnel from Indian Navy ships INS Sahyadri and INS Kulish participated in a series of Subject Matter Expert Exchanges covering key areas including Peace and Security, ANCM-GMI Guidelines, Senior Enlisted Leadership and Marine Environmental Protection.
The engagements provided participating personnel an opportunity to share professional experiences, exchange operational perspectives and strengthen cooperation in areas related to maritime security and the protection of the marine environment.
The harbour phase also featured an International Day and Cultural Show, providing personnel from participating countries an opportunity to showcase and celebrate their diverse cultural traditions.
Joint sporting activities, including team sports and an obstacle relay, further promoted interaction among the participating contingents.
The activities encouraged teamwork, camaraderie and stronger bonds of friendship between personnel from the participating nations.
The Indian Navy said such engagements contribute to enhanced mutual understanding and interoperability among participating maritime forces while reinforcing India’s commitment to MAHASAGAR, the Act East policy and the broader Indo-Pacific maritime cooperation framework.
