JAMMU, OCT 22: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday reviewed the functioning of its various organisational cells and outlined a coordinated action plan for upcoming party programmes, with a particular focus on strengthening grassroots outreach, ensuring constituency-level participation and improving coordination between cell conveners and district teams. The meeting, held at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, brought together senior party functionaries, conveners and co-conveners to assess organisational preparedness, allocate responsibilities and establish timelines for implementing programmes communicated by the party’s central leadership.
J&K BJP Vice President Priya Sethi, General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria and All Cells Incharge Ved Sharma addressed the meeting, while Munish Khajuria, Co-convener of All Cells, conducted the proceedings. Participants discussed the preparations required to ensure the effective implementation of upcoming organisational activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
Emphasising the strategic importance of party cells, Priya Sethi said these organisational units play a significant role in expanding the BJP’s grassroots presence and strengthening its engagement with different sections of society. She stressed that party activities must extend beyond organisational meetings at headquarters and reach people at the constituency level. Calling for wider participation, she said programmes should be organised in every Assembly constituency across Jammu and Kashmir with the active involvement of the respective district teams.
Sethi underscored the need for sustained public outreach and coordinated efforts to ensure that the party’s organisational activities remain connected with people at the grassroots. She emphasised that effective functioning of the cells would depend on their ability to mobilise members, coordinate with district units and implement programmes in a structured manner.
Baldev Singh Billawaria briefed the participants on seven programmes scheduled to be undertaken between October 23 and November 5 in accordance with directions from the BJP’s central leadership. He stressed that the programmes required systematic planning, clearly defined responsibilities and timely execution at every organisational level. He called upon the cell representatives to work collectively, maintain coordination with the party’s district and constituency units, and ensure that the activities were implemented within the prescribed timelines.
All Cells Incharge Ved Sharma issued specific directions regarding responsibilities and targets for individual cells at the Assembly constituency level. He instructed all conveners and co-conveners to coordinate closely with their respective district teams and finalise membership lists within the next two to three days to facilitate timely preparations.
Sharma further directed that the programmes should commence from October 24 and continue for one week, with each cell ensuring active participation, effective coordination and proper execution of its assigned tasks. He stressed the importance of translating organisational planning into tangible activity at the constituency level and ensuring that every cell contributes effectively to the party’s broader outreach efforts.
The meeting was attended by Deepak Kaphie, Pawan Singh, Amit Manhas, Rajesh Thapa, Deepak Gupta, P.C. Sharma, Basant Thakur, Ashu Mahajan, Balvinder Singh, Narinder Singh and other conveners and co-conveners of the party’s various cells.
The review meeting marked an organisational push by the J&K BJP to streamline the functioning of its cells, strengthen coordination between different organisational units and ensure the timely implementation of programmes across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the November 5 deadline.
