Kupwara Police concludes volleyball, girls T20 cricket tournaments, felicitates young sportspersons

KUPWARA, OCT 6: Promoting sports as a platform for youth engagement and community participation, Kupwara Police organised the finale of boys’ volleyball and girls’ T20 cricket tournaments at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, bringing together young sportspersons in an atmosphere marked by competitive spirit, discipline and sportsmanship.

SSP Kupwara Al Tahir Gilani graced the concluding event and interacted with the participating teams and players. DySP DAR Kupwara was also present on the occasion.

During his interaction with the young participants, the SSP appreciated their enthusiasm, discipline and sporting spirit, stressing the importance of sports in encouraging healthy lifestyles, teamwork, leadership and constructive engagement among youth.

The concluding ceremonies also recognised the efforts of the participating teams, with the winner and runner-up teams felicitated by SSP Kupwara for their performances in the respective competitions. The felicitation provided an opportunity to acknowledge not only the achievements of the winning teams but also the commitment and competitive spirit displayed by all participants throughout the tournaments.

The organisation of separate boys’ volleyball and girls’ T20 cricket competitions also provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and participate in structured sporting activities, reinforcing the role of sports in creating positive avenues for youth across the district.
