RAJOURI, SEPT 15: A man was found dead near the National Highway at Lamberi in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district on Tuesday, triggering concern among locals and prompting police to begin proceedings to establish his identity and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to officials, the body was spotted by passersby near the highway, who immediately alerted the police.
Soon after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took the body into custody.
Officials said the identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
The body has been kept for identification, while police have initiated the necessary legal formalities in connection with the incident.
Police are also making efforts to ascertain the circumstances that led to the man’s death and establish his identity.
Meanwhile, the police have appealed to members of the public who may have any information regarding the deceased to come forward and assist the authorities in identifying him and informing his family.
