A congregational memorial programme was held on Friday at Lone Manzil Sogam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to commemorate the 24th death anniversary of senior National Conference leader and former Home Minister late Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and prominent political and social activist late Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone.

The programme was attended by National Conference (NC) District President Kupwara and MLA Lolab Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, who paid rich tributes to the two leaders and remembered their contribution to public service and their enduring bond with the people.

Speakers recalled the role played by Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone in the social and political life of the region, saying their commitment to public welfare and service would continue to be remembered.

Notably both the deceased leaders were paternal uncles of MLA Lolab Qaiser Jamsheed Lone.

A special prayer was offered for the departed souls, with participants praying to Almighty Allah to grant them Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength and patience to their family members and all those who continue to feel their absence.

Scores of National Conference (NC)
workers, youth wing members, relatives, local residents and other people attended the memorial programme.
