New Delhi, Oct 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted how the e-Sanjeevani telemedicine service helped a woman from Zanskar in Ladakh receive specialist medical assistance during pregnancy complications.

In his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, PM Modi cited the case of Kunjang Dolma, saying the service enabled a specialist doctor to provide timely assistance.

He said e-Sanjeevani had facilitated nearly 50 crore tele-consultations across the country, highlighting its role in taking specialist healthcare to remote areas.

PM Modi also cited examples from Lakshadweep, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Nagaland to illustrate how the service was helping patients access timely medical advice.
