A police party from Police Station Pulwama, while conducting patrolling near Dairy Farm, Puchal, intercepted and apprehended two persons and carried out their personal searches.
The accused were identified as Anees Ul Islam, son of Fayaz Ahmad Rather, resident of Lajoora, from whose possession 13.5 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered, and Margoob Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Puchal, who was found carrying 20 grams of the substance.
The recovered contraband was seized in accordance with prescribed legal procedures.
Police have registered FIR Number 190/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation has been set into motion to establish the wider links, if any, of the accused with the illegal narcotics trade.
Police reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking, stating that sustained action will continue against persons involved in the possession, transportation and distribution of illegal narcotic substances.
