RAJOURI, SEPT 13: Intensifying its traffic enforcement drive, Rajouri Police seized 17 e-rickshaws and challaned 21 vehicles for various violations during a checking operation at Kallar Naka.
The drive was conducted by a team of Police Post Chingus under the supervision of SHO Rajouri and DySP Headquarters Rajouri, with the operation carried out under the supervision of SSP Rajouri and overall supervision of DIG IPS Sandeep Wazir.
During the checking, police scrutinised vehicles for compliance with prescribed traffic rules, documentation and road-safety norms. Seventeen e-rickshaws were seized after violations were detected, while 21 other vehicles were challaned under relevant provisions.
Police personnel also sensitised drivers about responsible driving, proper documentation and strict adherence to traffic regulations, stressing that violations compromising the safety of commuters and other road users would not be tolerated.
Rajouri Police said such checking drives would continue at vulnerable and busy locations across the district to curb traffic violations, improve road discipline and make roads safer for the public.
