JAMMU, OCT 25: Emphasising the importance of spiritual awakening, inner purification and the role of an enlightened master, Sadguru Shri Madhu Paramhans Ji Maharaj said that the attainment of ‘Saar Naam’ is fundamental to the soul’s journey towards liberation, asserting that only a complete Sadguru can impart the essential divine Naam described in the teachings of saints.

Addressing devotees at Mishriwala in Jammu, Maharaj explained that the divine Naam is not merely a matter of religious knowledge, scriptural study or intellectual understanding, but a living spiritual experience that establishes a connection between the soul and the Supreme Reality.

He said that human life acquires its true purpose when an individual begins to recognise this inner spiritual connection under the guidance of a true Sadguru. According to Maharaj, the Saar Naam provides the soul with the means to transcend worldly attachments and return to its original spiritual abode.

Highlighting the transformative impact of Naam on human conduct, Maharaj observed that spiritual ignorance often prevents individuals from fully understanding the distinction between virtue and sin. With the attainment of the divine Naam, however, qualities such as truthfulness, forgiveness, compassion, wisdom and discernment begin to develop, enabling a person to make better choices and lead a morally conscious life.

He further explained that the divine Naam serves as an inner guide, helping individuals distinguish between righteous and wrongful actions. Describing it as a constant source of spiritual direction and protection, he urged devotees to remain attentive to this inner guidance and follow the path of truth, humility and compassion.

Maharaj stressed that genuine spiritual progress goes beyond outward religious observances and requires an inward transformation of thoughts, intentions and actions. He described the Saar Naam as a spiritual shield that helps individuals overcome their shortcomings, purify their consciousness and move towards a higher state of spiritual awareness.

Reiterating the central role of the Sadguru in this journey, he said that imparting the Saar Naam is the defining responsibility of a true spiritual master. Without its attainment, he maintained, the soul cannot achieve complete spiritual purification.

Referring to the teachings of saints, Maharaj underscored the importance of keeping the divine Naam at the centre of one’s life, observing that human existence finds its deeper meaning through spiritual awareness and a connection with the Supreme Reality.

The discourse at Mishriwala offered devotees an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the Sadguru, the transformative power of Naam and the pursuit of a life guided by truth, compassion and spiritual discipline.
