SAMBA, OCT 29: Samba Police organised a series of programmes at educational institutions across the district to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with a focus on promoting national integration, constitutional values, civic responsibility, communal harmony and stronger police-public relations.
The initiatives were aimed at sensitising students and members of the local community about the importance of national unity, integrity, responsible citizenship and peaceful coexistence.
As part of the observance, a Constitutional Awareness and Civic Duty Seminar was organised at Government Degree College, Ramgarh, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and members of the teaching faculty. Police officers sensitised the participants about the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India and emphasised the importance of fulfilling fundamental duties as responsible citizens.
A quiz competition on Indian history was also organised at the college, followed by a documentary screening to enhance students’ understanding of the country’s rich historical heritage, contributions of national leaders and the ideals of unity and integrity.
In another initiative, a Student-Community Interaction Meeting was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Utterbehani, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Purmandal. The interaction focused on strengthening police-public relations, fostering mutual trust and cooperation, and encouraging communal harmony and peaceful coexistence among different sections of society.
Meanwhile, a patriotic slogan-writing programme was organised at Government Higher Secondary School, Rajpura, falling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. The initiative encouraged students to express their patriotic sentiments and commitment to the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation through creative expression.
To recognise and encourage the talent and enthusiasm of young participants, Samba Police distributed trophies and certificates among students who secured the first three positions in the competitions.
Through these initiatives, Samba Police reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with students, promoting constitutional awareness and civic responsibility, and strengthening community participation in the larger cause of national unity and social harmony.
