RAEBARELI, SEPT 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday called for strengthening the spirit of unity, harmony and universal welfare, saying the timeless philosophy of Sanatana Dharma has a message of peace and human welfare for the entire world.
Addressing the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha in Raebareli in the presence of revered spiritual leader Pandit Pradeep Mishra, Sinha described the teachings of Lord Shiva as a sacred spiritual journey for seekers of truth.
He expressed gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey for organising the religious gathering and said the presence of saints and spiritual discourses can rejuvenate the inner strength of society.
Drawing an analogy with the purification of gold in fire, the Lieutenant Governor said association with spiritually enlightened people similarly purifies and strengthens the human spirit.
Highlighting the ancient Indian concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, Sinha said the vision of the world as one family embodies India’s civilisational commitment to peace, harmony and the welfare of humanity.
Referring to the recent BRICS Summit in Delhi, he said this philosophy is gaining wider resonance at the global level.
Sinha stressed that unity remains one of India’s fundamental strengths and urged people to remain vigilant against divisive tendencies while preserving the country’s rich tradition of diversity and harmony.
He also called upon saints and enlightened members of society to play a greater role in guiding the nation towards comprehensive development, saying spiritual wisdom and social responsibility must move together.
The Lieutenant Governor said India is witnessing a stage where its civilisational values can contribute to global guidance.
He expressed confidence that the collective spirit of unity, coupled with the nation’s development journey, would help India realise the goal of becoming a developed nation and reclaiming its ancient glory.
