SHOPIAN, SEPT 12: Shopian Police conducted a comprehensive assessment and evaluation test of 19 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) undergoing the second phase of practical training at the District Training Centre (DTC), DPL Shopian, putting their investigative preparedness, field skills and professional competence to assessment.
The evaluation was conducted by a panel comprising Additional SP Shopian, DySP DAR Shopian and Senior PO DPO Shopian, under the supervision of SSP Shopian.
The trainees were assessed on crucial policing and investigation skills, including intelligence briefings concerning their areas of deployment, preparation of investigation memos (Fardaat), registration and investigation of NDPS Act cases, besides detailed discussions on cases investigated by them and their corresponding shadow files.
The assessment also examined the trainees’ self-appraisal of work carried out during the training period, court reports prepared in cases and enquiries, complaints entrusted to them and their disposal. A dedicated panel discussion on NDPS cases formed another key component of the evaluation.
The exercise was aimed at objectively assessing the practical capabilities, investigative approach and understanding of legal and procedural aspects of policing among the trainees, while identifying areas requiring further improvement.
Shopian Police said structured training and regular evaluation are essential for maintaining high professional standards and developing competent, accountable and effective police personnel capable of performing their duties efficiently and strictly in accordance with law.
