SOPORE, OCT 30: Emphasising the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding national security and maintaining peace, Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a seminar on “National Security and Role of Police & Community” in Sopore town, bringing together representatives of civil society and various sections of the local community.
Around 100 participants attended the seminar, including prominent citizens from Sopore and adjoining areas, members of civil society, traders, Auqaf Committees, sports associations, social workers and other stakeholders.
During the programme, speakers highlighted the significance of active public participation in addressing security-related concerns and strengthening coordination between police and the community. They underlined that national security is a collective responsibility and that cooperation between law enforcement agencies and citizens plays an important role in maintaining peace, stability and social harmony.
The participants also discussed the need to strengthen police-public relations and encourage greater engagement among different sections of society to contribute towards a secure and peaceful environment.
The seminar concluded peacefully, with J&K Police reiterating its commitment to promoting community participation, building public trust and strengthening police-community cooperation as part of its efforts to maintain law and order and ensure security.
