The Srinagar Open Tennis Championship 2026 will be held at Gindun Sports Complex Rajbagh in Srinagar from October 2 to October 4 this year.
District Lawn Tennis Association, an affiliate of the Jammu and Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association, the sixth edition of the Srinagar Open Tennis Championships, as per a statement issued on Saturday, is expected to see participation of around 50 players in open category and age group events.
The Srinagar Open has become an annual feature of the tennis calendar in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Tennis in Kashmir has come a long way since the inaugural event was held in 2020. We look forward to some great tennis as new players have joined us in the journey over the past six years,” Organising Secretary of the Championships Abdul Wahab said.
Wahab said the players who want to participate in the event can contact him or any office bearers of the District Lawn Tennis Association for details at Gindun Sports Complex from 4 pm to 6 pm.
The last date to submit entries is September 27 while the draw of lots will be held on September 30.
The singles tournament in all categories will be played on knock out basis while the doubles event will be played on league basis in two groups before semifinals and final.
Inayat Jehangir is the defending champion in the singles event while he also holds the doubles crown with his partner Dilbagh Singh.
Mohammad Qais was the Under 16 (boys) champion last year while Zainab Zaman won the Under 10 (girls) event.
