PULWAMA, SEPT 14: Senior Superintendent of Police Pulwama Sahil Sarangal on Monday directed officers to ensure prompt, fair and time-bound resolution of genuine public grievances, while stressing stronger police-public coordination to maintain peace and security in the district.
Chairing a public darbar at Wanpora, Newa, SSP Sarangal interacted directly with a large number of residents from Wanpora and adjoining villages, who raised various issues concerning their areas.
The SSP gave a patient hearing to the participants and directed the concerned officers to examine the grievances and take appropriate action on priority.
The public darbar was attended by SP Operations Pulwama, SP Headquarters Pulwama, DySP PC Kakapora, SHO Pulwama and DO Newa, who also interacted with the residents and took note of the issues raised.
During the interaction, SSP Sarangal called for continued public cooperation, vigilance and community participation to strengthen the security environment.
He also stressed the need for greater collective efforts against drug abuse and other social evils, urging parents, teachers and community members to work together to protect the younger generation from the menace of narcotics.
The SSP further emphasised that public concerns must be handled with sensitivity, responsiveness and within a defined timeframe, directing officers to remain accessible to the people and maintain regular engagement with communities.
On the occasion, SSP Sarangal also felicitated three students from the area who recently qualified NEET, appreciating their achievement and encouraging them to pursue their academic goals with dedication.
Residents welcomed the initiative and appreciated the SSP for providing them a direct platform to raise their concerns, saying such interactions would further strengthen public confidence, mutual trust and police-community cooperation.
