Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign begins across District Sham

KHALTSI, SEPT 17: The Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign commenced in District Sham on Wednesday as part of the nationwide drive under the Swachh Bharat Mission, with a focus on cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene and community participation.

The campaign, being observed across the country from September 17 to October 2, carries the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” highlighting collective responsibility and public participation in building a clean and developed India.

Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Kunzes Angmo, administered the Swachhata pledge at the Rural Development Department Hall in Khaltsi.

Addressing officers and officials, she stressed the importance of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene and urged all departments to actively participate in the campaign.

The BDO, Khaltsi, briefed representatives of various government departments, implementing agencies, Panchayati Raj Institutions and other stakeholders about the objectives and activities planned under SHS 2026, emphasising coordinated efforts and active participation of the public.

The Rural Development Department, Khaltsi, also organised a cleanliness drive around its premises, in which government employees participated.

The initiative aimed to reinforce the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings while promoting a sense of collective responsibility.

The campaign in District Sham will involve Panchayati Raj Institutions, local communities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders, with emphasis on Jan Bhagidari and sustained efforts towards cleanliness and sanitation.

The campaign seeks to strengthen public awareness and encourage collective action to maintain clean and hygienic surroundings, reaffirming the commitment towards a Swachh and Viksit Bharat.
