The session was conducted virtually, with Prof. Julie Davies, Professor of Healthcare Management and Leadership Development and Head of Accreditations, Rankings and Reputation at Brunel Business School, Brunel University of London, UK, serving as the resource person.

Prof. Davies provided students with insights into the evolving India-UK trade relationship and the wider international business environment, highlighting opportunities for building partnerships and expanding businesses across global markets.

She elaborated on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between India and the UK and discussed emerging opportunities across different sectors and service corridors. She also highlighted India’s growing strategic position in the global economy, particularly in IT and business services, engineering and manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles and leather.

Emphasising the importance of people-to-people connections in international business, Prof. Davies said “people are the bridges”, highlighting the role of diaspora networks, student mobility, academic partnerships and professional mobility in creating stronger economic linkages between countries.

She further explained various routes through which Indian enterprises can enter the UK market, including exporting, licensing, joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries, encouraging students to develop a global outlook towards business and entrepreneurship.

In her concluding remarks, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Founding Director, ICccR&HRM, thanked Prof. Davies for highlighting the economic opportunities and evolving trade connections between India and the UK.
