BUDGAM, SEPT 29: The 11 JKAP Security Battalion, Security Complex Humhama, organised a series of community-oriented activities in Budgam under its ongoing Civic Action Programme, combining a message of national unity with welfare support for students and persons requiring mobility assistance.
At Government High School Ompora, the Battalion organised a programme centred on the ideals of national unity, integrity and patriotism associated with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. School kits were distributed among needy students, while a debate competition was held on Patel’s life, ideals and contribution towards the unity and integrity of the country.
Students participated enthusiastically in the debate and highlighted Patel’s contribution to national integration.
As part of the same initiative, a wheelchair distribution programme was later organised at the Battalion Headquarters at Security Complex Humhama. Wheelchairs were provided to needy and deserving persons identified by the District Social Welfare Officer, Budgam, extending practical mobility support to beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries and their families expressed gratitude for the assistance, while the initiative also provided an opportunity to strengthen interaction and cooperation between the police and local communities.
The 11 JKAP Security Battalion said such welfare-oriented activities form part of its continued efforts under the Civic Action Programme to support vulnerable and deserving sections of society, encourage community participation and strengthen police-public relations.
