KATHUA, SEPT 26: Kathua Police on Saturday arrested an absconder who had remained beyond the reach of law since 2010 in connection with two cases registered at Police Station Kathua.
The accused, Balbir Singh, son of Jog Raj, resident of Ward No. 13, Tehsil and District Kathua, was apprehended by a police team of Police Station Kathua led by the SHO, under the supervision of Additional SP Kathua and DySP Headquarters Kathua and overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma.
Police said Balbir Singh was wanted in FIR Number 06/2007 under Sections 336, 147 and 323 IPC and FIR No. 323/2010 under Sections 323 and 324 IPC, both registered at Police Station Kathua.
Warrants had been issued against him by the competent court.
After his arrest, all requisite legal formalities were completed and the accused was produced before the court for further proceedings.
The arrest comes as part of Kathua Police’s continuing drive to trace and apprehend absconders and proclaimed offenders involved in long-pending criminal cases.
