HANDWARA, SEPT 13: Intensifying its enforcement drive against traffic violations and illegal mining, Handwara Police seized eight motorcycles and one other vehicle for violating traffic rules during checking at nakas established across Handwara, Langate, Chogul and Kralgund.
In a separate action against illegal mining, police also seized two tractors allegedly carrying illegally mined material.
The enforcement action forms part of an intensified drive to curb traffic violations, promote disciplined driving and ensure the safety of road users, while simultaneously cracking down on the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals across Police District Handwara.
Police warned violators that strict action would continue against those found compromising road safety or involved in illegal mining activities.
