POONCH, SEPT 14: SSP Poonch Shafqat Hussain, has called upon residents of the Loran area to strengthen cooperation with police, remain vigilant against suspicious activities and play an active role in preventing crime, drug abuse and other social challenges.
The SSP was speaking while chairing a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Isawali, Loran, aimed at strengthening grassroots-level police-public coordination and ensuring greater community participation in maintaining peace and public safety.
The meeting was attended by DySP Headquarters Poonch Neeraj Sharma, DySP Operations Poonch Azhar Amin and SHO Loran, besides prominent citizens, local residents and community representatives.
During the interaction, SSP Hussain directed the participants to immediately report suspicious movements, criminal activities, drug-related incidents and other threats to public safety, stressing that timely information from the community can help police prevent crimes and maintain a secure environment.
He also called for collective efforts to curb drug abuse, address youth-related concerns and prevent the spread of rumours and misinformation, urging parents, community representatives and local residents to remain particularly alert to issues affecting young people.
The SSP directed police officers to maintain accessible, responsive and people-friendly policing, while assuring residents that their genuine concerns would be examined and addressed on priority.
The officers present also interacted with the locals and assured them of prompt police response and continued support on matters concerning their safety and security.
The participants appreciated the PCPG initiative and expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation with District Police Poonch in maintaining peace, public order and communal harmony in the area.
