RAJOURI, SEPT 14: In a major breakthrough against the terror network operating across the Pir Panjal region, Rajouri Police have busted an alleged Over Ground Worker (OGW) module linked with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and arrested three persons suspected of providing logistical and ground support to terrorists.
The arrested accused have been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Kotcharwal Teryath; Mohd Azam, son of Ali Bahadur, resident of Kotcharwal Teryath; and Mohd Mushtaq, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Udhan, Rajouri.
The arrests were made during the investigation of a terror module allegedly active in the Pir Panjal region.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were allegedly involved in providing logistical assistance, safe transit and other ground-level support to terrorist groups.
Investigators have further found that the accused allegedly acted as guides and facilitated the movement of terrorist groups towards the Kashmir Valley.
They are also suspected of providing ground support to terrorists linked with multiple high-profile attacks, including an attack targeting civilians.
In a major development during the investigation, an IED was recovered on the disclosure of one of the arrested accused.
Preliminary findings indicate that the explosive device had allegedly been handed over to the accused by members of a terrorist group for safe custody and possible use in a targeted attack.
Rajouri Police are now intensifying the investigation to unravel the entire terror-support network, identify additional associates and establish the full extent of the accused persons’ involvement.
