SAMBA, SEPT 14: Security agencies in Samba district are probing yet another unusual incident after a pigeon carrying a leg ring bearing a Pakistani mobile number was found near the International Border on Monday evening.
The pigeon was spotted near a house in Chak Dayala around 5:30 pm after a local resident alerted security personnel.
During examination, a ring bearing a Pakistani mobile number linked to the Jazz network was found attached to the bird’s leg.
The pigeon was subsequently handed over to BPP Pangdour for further examination and investigation.
The development comes hours after another pigeon carrying a numbered ring was found in the Ramgarh sector of Samba, prompting security agencies to examine whether the two incidents have any connection.
Officials are investigating the origin, movement and purpose of the birds, while all relevant security angles are being examined.
