AWANTIPORA, SEPT 15: A badminton tournament organised by Police District Awantipora under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026–27 concluded with enthusiastic participation from local youth, highlighting the growing role of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and positive community engagement.
The tournament provided young players with a constructive platform to showcase their talent and competitive spirit, with participants displaying commendable discipline, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the competition.
The concluding ceremony saw mementos, participation certificates, medals and sports kits distributed among the players in recognition of their participation and sporting spirit.
Police officials said the initiative was aimed not only at promoting sports but also at channelising the energy of youth towards healthy and constructive pursuits while creating stronger bonds between the police and the local community.
The tournament forms part of Police District Awantipora’s continued community-oriented initiatives under the CAP, through which police are engaging young people in sports and other constructive activities.
Police District Awantipora reaffirmed its commitment to expanding such initiatives to encourage youth participation, promote a positive social environment and further strengthen police-public relations.
