REASI, SEPT 15: Jammu Police has intensified its security review in Reasi, with IGP Jammu Zone Tejinder Singh, directing the district police to maintain heightened vigilance, strengthen intelligence gathering and sharpen its operational response to emerging security challenges.
Chairing a high-level security meeting at DPL Reasi, the IGP took a detailed assessment of the prevailing security situation and the preparedness of police formations across the district.
The review focused on intelligence inputs, surveillance, preventive action and operational readiness, with clear emphasis on strengthening the security grid and ensuring timely response to any developing threat.
Security arrangements at critical installations were also examined, with officers directed to identify vulnerabilities, reinforce protective measures and maintain seamless coordination with all concerned agencies.
The meeting brought together the DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Reasi, senior police officers, SHOs, Police Post In-Charges and SOG In-Charges, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the district’s security and intelligence machinery.
The IGP stressed the need for proactive policing and ground-level vigilance, directing officers to intensify surveillance, strengthen intelligence networks and ensure effective preventive action rather than waiting for threats to materialise.
The review sent a strong message on maintaining an alert, responsive and tightly coordinated security apparatus in Reasi, with field formations tasked to remain operationally prepared and continuously reassess the security situation.
