JAMMU, SEPT 26: KC Public School, Jammu, secured a place among the top six teams at the prestigious Padmashree JTM Gibson Quiz hosted by Mayo College, Ajmer, on September 25, putting up a strong showing against leading schools from across the country.
The national-level quiz featured 12 reputed schools, including Mayo College Ajmer, Bishop Cotton School Shimla, Scindia School Gwalior, Mayo College Girls’ School Ajmer, Sunbeam School Lahartara, Emerald Heights International School Indore, St. George’s College Mussoorie, Vasant Valley School New Delhi, Welham Girls’ School Dehradun, Mayoor School Ajmer and KC Public School Jammu.
Representing KCPS, Abhay Wanchoo and Shrihaan Gupta displayed strong knowledge, teamwork and presence of mind in the preliminary round, which tested participants across a wide range of subjects through challenging questions requiring quick recall and sharp thinking.
Renowned quizmaster Thejaswi Udupa conducted the contest, introducing an engaging format and innovative rules that added to the competitive intensity.
The six-team final featured KCPS alongside Vasant Valley School, Scindia School, Sunbeam School, Mayoor School and Bishop Cotton School.
The final round added a strategic dimension, with negative marking forcing teams to balance knowledge with calculated risk-taking and quick decision-making.
Sunbeam School Lahartara emerged as the winner, while Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, and Scindia School, Gwalior, finished second and third respectively.
For KC Public School, making the final six in a strong national field marked a notable performance and gave its students valuable exposure to high-level quizzing, while further strengthening their analytical, decision-making and teamwork skills.
