The newly completed facilities are intended to strengthen the infrastructure and public amenities available at the historic shrine and provide improved arrangements for devotees, visitors and community programmes. The Waqf Chairperson later convened a meeting with Board authorities, local management and prominent members of the civil society of Chrar-e-Sharief, during which issues concerning the management, development and future infrastructure requirements of the shrine and the town were discussed.
Dr Andrabi highlighted the exceptional spiritual, historical and cultural significance of Chrar-e-Sharief, which is closely associated with the life and teachings of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), one of Kashmir’s most revered spiritual figures. She said systematic development of the shrine and its associated infrastructure would help improve facilities for devotees while further strengthening the heritage value of the historic destination.
She reiterated that the Waqf Board would continue pursuing infrastructure upgradation and public-amenity projects at religious institutions across Jammu and Kashmir, with emphasis on better facilities, improved management and preservation of religious and cultural heritage.
“The inauguration of the Sabaat Complex and Conference Hall adds to the ongoing infrastructure development initiatives of the J&K Waqf Board aimed at improving facilities at important shrines and religious institutions throughout the Union Territory,” Dr Andrabi said.
