SOPORE, SEPT 11: SSP Sopore chaired a comprehensive monthly crime, law & order and security review meeting at the Conference Hall of DPO Sopore, taking a detailed assessment of the overall crime situation, investigation of cases, public service delivery and security preparedness across Police District Sopore.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Sopore, SDPOs, DySP DAR, DySP Operations, Senior Prosecuting Officer DPO Sopore, SHOs and DOs, besides other concerned officers.
During the meeting, a threadbare review of old pending cases as well as cases registered during the current year was conducted. The SSP directed investigating officers to ensure quality, professional and time-bound investigations, expedite the disposal of pending cases and strictly adhere to the timelines prescribed under the new criminal laws.
Particular emphasis was laid on the effective implementation of provisions of the new criminal laws, with officers directed to ensure that police services are delivered to the public in a prompt, transparent and hassle-free manner.
The crime review covered cases involving NDPS, UAPA, crimes against women and children, property offences and other serious crimes. Officers were directed to strengthen investigation and follow-up mechanisms while taking effective action against drug trafficking and organised criminal activities.
The SSP also reviewed the law and order and security situation across the district, with special focus on vulnerable areas and sensitive locations. Officers were instructed to maintain a high degree of alertness, strengthen area domination and surveillance, improve inter-unit coordination and enhance intelligence-based counter-terror operations.
Public service delivery also figured prominently during the review. The SSP stressed the need for timely disposal of verification cases and other public services, besides prompt redressal of grievances. SHOs and field officers were directed to remain accessible to citizens and regularly interact with the public to further strengthen police-public relations at the grassroots level.
The SSP emphasised that close supervision, accountability and professionalism at every level are essential for effective policing. Officers were accordingly directed to maintain sustained focus on crime prevention, quality investigation, law and order management, public service delivery and security preparedness.
Concluding the meeting, SSP Sopore called upon all officers to work with dedication and ensure a coordinated policing approach aimed at maintaining a safe, secure and peaceful environment across Police District Sopore.
